I've known Suraj via Facebook and as a fellow sister I supported him in purchasing his documentary. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised to hear his truth. Especially as a melanated brother. Seeing how childhood trauma can immobilize ones growing stages on up into adulthood. Suraj taught me via the diaspora pain runs very deep. And healing must take place on a spiritual, mental, physical, emotional level. How beautiful that a man can speak openly to unite us all. So many Men sit in solitude and shame. This documentary will touch hearts and show us that all males need to stop sitting in silence.

I appreciate and admire that you allowed yourself to open up and share with us that men also do experience a form of trauma and abuse. And that's it's ok to reach out and speak about it so healing can also take place.. This documentary has definitely opened up my eyes and heart to hold no form of judgement against men or anyone in that matter when they can suffer from abuse....As men I know it can be hard to open up on this matter and I'm proud of you for letting the world know that we must stop sweeping this issue under the rug and let's speak about it, so we can help heal our men to. The Man in the Mirror Documentary is very insightful into the the causes of trauma within the black male community. It is represented well through the story of Suraj Odekunle, who comes across as an open, honest, kind and driven black male who wants to see the best in other black male who have, and a re still experiencing this in the modern day. You have to watch this documentary with an open mid so you can understand it from a wholistic point of view. It certainly isn't a video that showcases victim mentality, but a call to action that has certainly been missed on a public scale and needs so much undivided attention to help contribute to the black in England, and certainly the entire world.
